OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that scoring terminal hair growth on only the chin or abdomen can serve as a reliable predictor for hirsutism.
DESIGN: A prospective observational study.
PATIENT(S): Six hundred and ninety-five consecutive hyperandrogenic women seen between June 1987 and December 1997.
MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S): All hirsutism exams were performed by one examiner. Hirsutism was scored using a modification of the Ferriman-Gallwey (F-G) method. An F-G score of > or = 8 defined hirsutism.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most lethal urological tumor, often because it is widely metastasized at the time of diagnosis. There are reports of cutaneous metastases, most commonly to the head and neck, presenting late after RCC is diagnosed. This case presentation explores a 45-year old female patient with a growing skin lesion on her chin, previously treated as an epidermoid cyst before presenting to dermatology clinic. We present a case of cutaneous metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma presenting 7 years after initial diagnosis.

BACKGROUND: In East Asia, receding and short chin are common complaints of patients who do not have satisfied lower face. In most former studies, receding and short chin are considered and treated separately. But during the clinical work, the authors found that, in many patients, neither vertical elongation nor horizontal advancement of the chin is sufficient to achieve a harmonious result. Numb chin syndrome (NCS) is a rare yet potentially ominous sensory neuropathy in the distribution of the mental or inferior alveolar nerve characterized by unilateral hypoesthesia over the lower lip, chin and occasionally gingival mucosa.
