Fostering the Facilitator: Promoting Clinical Educators' Interprofessional Education Facilitation Skills and Socialization Using Exclusively Online Learning.

Health professions educators can benefit from continuing education to more effectively facilitate interprofessional education (IPE) in clinical settings. Online learning formats enable broader participation and overcome barriers to in-person events, though few studies describe the most effective platforms and methods of online continuing education for this purpose. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, we developed a 6-week interactive online program implemented via an integrated online educational platform (OEP) to equip participants with knowledge and skills to better facilitate IPE in cl

Enhancing Physician Management of Nontraumatic Dental Conditions: Impact of an Online Educational Module.

BACKGROUND: Dental emergencies from nontraumatic dental conditions (NTDCs) cause tooth infections and pain. These cases are often seen by physicians in nondental settings. Definitive treatment is rarely possible in these settings. This often leads to prescribing antibiotics or opioid analgesics, which may conflict with stewardship principles. OBJECTIVES: This study evaluated the impact of an online educational module on physicians' confidence and knowledge in managing NTDCs. METHODS: An educational module combining a cognitive aid and a multimodal online module with theoretical clinical case

Liberatory pedagogy and special education.

Liberatory theory, related to critical theory, postmodern thought, and constructivism, forms the backdrop of this article, which suggests that the way in which we have conceptualized students with disabilities as the "other" has come from a distorted modernist view that encourages us to distance ourselves from one another. It is suggested that some of our most vehement debates in special education are indicative of our attempts to "nibble at the edges of postmodern thinking." Liberatory pedagogies developed throughout the world have used education as a means for oppressed peoples to define for
