The CT appearance of the right gonadal vein was studied. It is usually first seen 1 cm below the bifurcation of the inferior vena cava (IVC) and empties into the IVC laterally or anterolaterally 4 cm below the union of the right renal vein and IVC. Occasionally, it empties into an accessory right renal vein rather than the IVC. The right gonadal vein was visualized partially or completely in 80% of patients, and generally measured less than or equal to 4 mm in maximum diameter. Changes in plasma levels of estradiol and progesterone and their temporal relationship with changes in mood and behavior were studied along the menstrual cycle in 17 normal women with a wide range of severity and types of premenstrual changes (PMC). The authors report a case of testicular involvement in the Henoch-Schönlein's purpura, in order to call attention on the problem of an affection which has sometimes an acute onset and may therefore undergo a useless explorative surgical intervention. With the help of the existing literature, they define the pathological feature and point out the feasibility of a differential diagnosis when looking for the usually observed involvements (skin, joints, kidney, ecc.), associated with H.S. syndrome, in an accentuated or just slightly evident way, as in the presently described case.

Plasma levels of LH, FSH, oestradiol 17 beta and testosterone were measured in twenty-two men with gynaecomastia. The group was divided by age into those under and those over 50-years-old and the mean hormone levels of the two groups were compared with two groups of age-matched normal men. In the young men with gynaecomastia LH and consequently the LH:FSH ratio was lower than in controls. Older patients with gynaecomastia had higher values of both LH and FSH than normal controls but the LH:FSH ratio was similar in the two groups. Four cases of gonadal tumors in infancy were treated in the Service of Pediatric Surgery of the Hospital Infantil "Virgen de la Arrixaca", Murcia, during the first two years of surgical work. One of them is a Leydig cells testicular tumor, the second is a ovary tumor of the granulosa and the last two cases were ovarian cysts, one of them associated with precocious puberty. The clinical features, diagnostic and therapeutic problems of these tumors are reviewed.

Skull radiographs of 54 patients with Turner's syndrome have been studied. The following characteristic findings were frequently noted: mastoid processes of definitely decreased dimensions, small facial bones which were proportional to the stunted growth of the patients, enlargement and increased thickness of the mandible, extensive calcification of the petro-clinoid ligaments, excessive pneumatisation of the paranasal sinuses and increased angle of the base of the skull.

Plasma steroids, estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, and plasma gonadotropins FSH and LH were determined before and after adrenal suppression in an 18-year-old patient with gonadal dysgenesis (XX/XO). Total plasma estrogen was initially low (9.2 plus or minus 2.4 pg/ml) and did not change after adrenal suppression.
