PURPOSE: This article reports a case of autonomic dysreflexia associated with hemorrhoidal disease in a patient with high spinal cord lesions and successful treatment by surgical hemorrhoidectomy.
METHODS: Following an unsuccessful attempt at conservative treatment which included bulk agents and warm compresses, the patient subsequently underwent three-column, closed surgical hemorrhoidectomy.
RESULTS: The patient was symptom free and had normal bowel activity six weeks postoperatively, and five-year follow-up showed no recurrence of the hemorrhoidal prolapse or dysreflexia.

The data on incidence of detection of associated rectal diseases--hemorrhoids and anal fissures--are presented. The indications for operative treatment are considered, a method suggested by the authors for surgical treatment of the mentioned diseases, which was used in 62 patients, is described. Use of the improved operative technique contributed to reduction in number of complications. Duration of treatment has shortened by 7 days.

We report the rare case of postoperative perianal abscess after emergency transanal hemorrhoidal dearterialization (THD) with mucopexy for Grade III hemorrhoidal disease (HD). BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcome of hemorrhoidal surgery in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) undergoing surgery at our center.
METHODS: All adult patients with IBD undergoing hemorrhoidal surgery in our department between November 1, 2013 and July 7, 2020 were included in the study. At the time of surgery, the patients' IBD was in clinical, biological and endoscopic remission, and none of the patients had specific primary anoperineal lesions.

The non-specific clinical symptoms of anorectal brownish-black mass do not help to differentiate colorectal cancer, hemorrhoids, rectal ulcers which result in a delayed diagnosis or lead to inadequate management of lethal anorectal melanoma. Primary malignant melanoma of the anorectal region is an uncommon tumor, constituting approximately 1% of anal canal tumors which may be misdiagnosed clinically as hemorrhoids. Because of aggressive behavior and poor prognosis, efficient and prompt diagnosis is required in these cases. We report 2 cases of this rare tumor.

This article describes a patient who presented to the ED with persistent nausea and vomiting, constipation, weight loss, and a new complaint of an external hemorrhoid and hematochezia with stooling. Comprehensive diagnostic evaluation included imaging studies that showed extensive metastatic disease but did not identify a primary neoplasm. Biopsy of the external hemorrhoid revealed small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma of the anal canal.
