We experienced a case of the ruptured pseudoaneurysm of the aortic arch. Patient complained left anterior chest pain, back pain and hoarseness. Considering the past history of pulmonary tuberculosis, emergency operation was performed median sternotomy approach and using aortic occlusion balloon catheter method and selective cerebral perfusion. Woven dacron graft was anastomosis intraluminal aneurysm. Postoperative course was good. Median sternotomy approach and AOBC method were better than intercostal approach method, because of a little bleeding, short operative time and method.

Otolaryngologic involvement is rarely a manifestation of drug-induced systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Hoarseness developed in a 60-year-old man that was secondary to ulcerated lesions, which involved the epiglottis and aryteno-epiglottic folds, with serologic evidence of SLE after he had been treated with hydralazine for six months. Histopathologic study of an epiglottic "pseudotumor" disclosed necrotizing vasculitis. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case of laryngeal involvement as a complication of hydralazine-induced SLE.

Ortner's syndrome, also known as cardiovocal syndrome, is a rare presentation of aortic dissection. Symptoms occur as a result of recurrent laryngeal nerve compression. Our report describes a case of a patient who complained of hoarseness for a few months and was eventually diagnosed with chronic aortic dissection.

BACKGROUND: Lipoid proteinosis is an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by hyalin deposits in the skin and mucosa of the upper aerodigestive tract; currently, no treatment exists. Chronic hoarseness is frequent among children, as shown by 64 cases observed over an 18-month period in a specialized phoniatric outpatients clinic. Age at the first consultation for these 64 patients was 3-14 year although the hoarseness was already known for more than 1 year in 40 patients (62.5%).
