Two cases of infantile hypertrichosis who subsequently developed oral abnormalities are described. In one case generalized gingival hyperplasia was associated with retarded eruption of deciduous and permanent teeth and macrodontia. In the second case the mucosal hyperplasia was limited to the palatal surface.

Lingual tonsil hyperplasia is a rare condition that may cause obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). In the management of OSA, the lingual tonsils should be evaluated during the otorhinolaryngologic examination. We report the case of a 66-year-old man with findings of upper airway obstruction secondary to excessive lingual and palatine tonsil hyperplasia and with MRI findings of bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy. We review the clinical, radiologic, and histopathologic aspects of this case, and we discuss the surgical options for treating massive reactive lymphoid hyperplasia in conjunction with OSA.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the 3-dimensional orofacial changes occurring after proportional condylectomy in patients with unilateral condylar hyperplasia type 2 (hemimandibular hyperplasia). Eight patients underwent proportional condylectomy that was not followed by orthognathic surgery or orthodontic treatment for at least 1 year. The precondylectomy and postcondylectomy photographs and radiographs were analyzed cephalometrically and compared. Myofibroblastic stromal hyperplasia (MSH) is the proposed name for a benign spindle cell proliferation of the mammary stroma, which often raises clinical and radiographic concern for a mass or a malignant process. The ocular surface is exposed to many chronic inflammatory stimuli, and goblet cell hyperplasia of the conjunctiva occurs in many situations. We report two cases of epithelial goblet cell hyperplasia with nonspecific chronic inflammation which occurred on the internal canthus of elderly people. These cases shared the same clinicopathological features that mimicked neoplastic lesion macroscopically, but are composed of nonspecific inflammatory changes pathologically.
