Infantile neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (INCL) is a fatal neurodegenerative disease caused by a deficiency in the lysosomal enzyme palmitoyl protein thioesterase-1 (PPT1). Hermansky-Pudlak syndrome (HPS) is a disease characterized by the triad of oculocutaneous albinism, bleeding diathesis and organ failure secondary to lysosomal accumulation of ceroid lipofuscin.
