The patient, aged 44, presented fever and chills with altered general condition and received an analgesic-antipyretic treatment with salicylic acid and pyrazolon derivatives. A bullous eruption that followed was labelled incipient Lyell syndrome. Both cornea presented ulcers with a tendency to perforation and mucosynechial conjunctivitis. This study investigates the characteristics of intraocular pressure (IOP) fluctuations in Chinese patients with pigment dispersion syndrome (PDS) after drug-induced mydriasis. Chronic iridocyclitis (CI) is among the most important extra-articular manifestations of juvenile chronic arthritis (JCA) and is most often observed in young girls with pauciarticular JCA and circulating antinuclear antibodies (ANAs). The frequency of CI found in 39 children with ANA-positive pauciarticular JCA was 56%. None of the patients developed ocular complications during follow-up. OBJECTIVE: To report the occurrence of 5 cases of Urrets-Zavalia syndrome after transscleral diode laser cyclophotocoagulation (TSCPC).
DESIGN: Retrospective cases series.
METHODS: A review of the charts of 5 patients treated with TSCPC as primary glaucoma surgery who developed Urrets-Zavalia syndrome.
RESULTS: A total of 8 eyes of 5 patients developed a fixed and dilated pupil after TSCPC, unresponsive to light. A mydriatic pupil could still be observed at least 6 months after treatment in 7 of 8 eyes; however, it was asymptomatic.

Premature infants requiring an ophthalmic examination or even surgery for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) have a high prevalence of co-existing bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD).
