A term infant developed subcutaneous fat necrosis of the newborn (SFNN) 17 days following completion of therapeutic hypothermia for hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy. Initial calcium was normal, however hypercalcaemia requiring hyperhydration and furosemide developed at 4 weeks. Parathyroid hormone and vitamin D were suppressed. We report a case of pseudotumoral nasal septum and hard palate perforation in a 42-years-old man. The diagnosis retained after differential diagnosis exclusion was necrotic midfacial lesion due to chronic inhalation of cocaine. This condition can mimic vasculitis, primary tumors and granulomatous infections. Differential diagnosis and pathophysiology of this condition will be discussed in this anatomo-clinical case.

The patient was a 51-year-old man who was evaluated by a physical therapist for a chief complaint of right hip pain. The patient was treated with a single bout of nonthrust hip joint mobilizations, but due to the patient's atypical response and long-term use of oral corticosteroid medications, he was referred to his primary care physician. Radiographs and subsequent magnetic resonance imaging revealed findings that were characteristic of avascular necrosis.

Carpal bones are rarely affected by avascular necrosis (AVN) in the absence of fractures. The lunate is the most frequently affected carpal bone, followed by the scaphoid and the capitate. The triquetrum is rarely affected by AVN. We report a case of multiple cystic changes in the triquetrum in a patient with a history of trauma. He was treated by below elbow Colles plaster cast for 3 months, with no improvement. Cystic changes resulted from irreversible AVN of the triquetrum. This is the first case to be reported in the literature with cystic AVN changes in the triquetrum.
