BACKGROUND: Goals of care (GOC) documentation is important but underused. We aimed to improve oncologist GOC documentation and end-of-life (EOL) care.

OBJECTIVE: To explore radiation oncologists' attitudes and practice patterns of radiotherapy for hormone-naïve prostate cancer with bone metastases in Japan.
METHODS: An internet-based survey was distributed to board-certified radiation oncologists of the Japanese Society of Radiation Oncology. Venous thromboembolism (VTE) has a significant adverse impact on the outcomes of patients with active solid malignancies. Prophylaxis is indicated for cancer-associated VTE (CA-VTE) using the Khorana score for risk stratification. We surveyed medical oncology fellows and trainees regarding their practice in CA-VTE. Regarding treatment of CA-VTE, practice was consistent with guidelines. However, regarding prophylaxis for CA-VTE, there was a high degree of uncertainty, which highlights the need for ongoing education.

OBJECTIVES: Corona virus-induced disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic has globally affected the surgical treatment of cancer patients and has challenged the ethical principles of surgical oncologists around the world. Not only treatment but also diagnosis and follow-up have been disrupted.
METHODS: An online survey was sent through Twitter and by the surgical societies worldwide. The survey consisted of 29 closed-ended questions and was conducted over a period of 24 days beginning in March 26, 2020.
RESULTS: Overall, 394 surgical oncologists from 41 different countries answered the questionnaire.
