Doming of the pulmonary valve is considered an important angiographic sign for valvar stenosis. But, this sign cannot be used with similar specificity following valvotomy because at the time of surgery a bicuspid valve is created. Pre- and postoperative hemodynamic data and right ventriculograms are reviewed in 22 patients with simple pulmonary valvar stenosis. There was no correlation between the transvalvar gradient and appearance of the pulmonary valve after surgery.

OBJECTIVES: Fresh, non-cryopreserved and non-seeded, decellularized pulmonary homografts (DPHs) were translated in 2005 into clinical practice. The aim of this current study is to summarize our 20-year clinical experience with DPH for pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) in congenital heart disease.

Newer self-expanding transcatheter pulmonary valves (TPVs) are approved for the treatment of severe pulmonary regurgitation in patients with large right ventricular outflow tracts. Percutaneous balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty (PBPV) is the primary treatment for pulmonary valve stenosis (PVS). The study consisted of 228 children with PVS who underwent PBPV from January 2004 to October 2019 at a single center. Quadricuspid pulmonary valve is a rare entity that can be associated with pulmonary artery aneurysm. It is usually asymptomatic and diagnosed incidentally. Association with other congenital or acquired heart diseases has been reported. Echocardiography and gated CT angiography can provide useful functional and anatomic information that can help in the diagnosis and management.

Pulmonary artery aneurysms are rare. We describe 2 adult patients with pulmonary artery aneurysm with normal pulmonary pressure associated with bicuspid pulmonary valve and atrial septal defect. The objective of this study was to develop a prosthetic cardiac valve designed for percutaneous transcatheter implantation. Percutaneous catheter-based therapies play a limited role in the management of cardiac valve disease.
