BACKGROUND: The parasympathetic nervous system contributes to the pathophysiology of multiple forms of allergic and nonallergic rhinitis. Stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system leads to glandular activation, which produces watery secretions. In excess, these secretions discharge from the anterior Nares and produce the symptom of watery anterior rhinorrhea.

BACKGROUND: Bronchial hyperreactivity (BHR) is a characteristic of bronchial asthma. Patients with allergic rhinitis who do not report symptoms of bronchial asthma on spirometry show BHR, which could indicate the presence of subclinical inflammation of the lower respiratory airway. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of surgical procedures on patients with rhinitis caseosa and maxillary sinusitis caseosa.
METHOD: The clinical analysis for 21 cases (24 sides) were reported in this paper, there were 6 rhinitis caseosa, 13 maxillary sinusitis caseosa, 5 rhinitis and sinusitis caseosa, all patients had caseation material in the nasal cavity or sinus cavity. Food allergy (AA) is involved in a third of subjects with perennial rhinitis (RPA). The majority of the patients are polysensitized. Isolated food allergy was only seen in 6 of 261 cases, which indicates an association of food allergy with other allergens, essentially pneumo-allergens. Immediate diagnosis of AA in RPA is difficult as it is essentially based on tests of elimination and re-introduction of the food, skin tests and RAST.
