OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine age-specific incidence ratios, gastric cancer localization trend, histologic subtype and cancer related survival that whether have changed during the period from 1999 to 2010.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A total of 866 gastric cancer patients treated at the hospital were retrospectively evaluated. Categorical and continuous variables were summarized using descriptive statistics and were compared using the Chi-square and Mann-Whitney U-tests, respectively. Cancer related survival rates were estimated by the Kaplan-Meier method.

Schistosomiasis is a chronic, parasitic disease and is endemic in some countries, primarily in Africa, Latin America and Asia. In some regions, Schistosoma haematobium is one of the principal causes of haematuria. The study sought to determine the costs of liver transplantation in Turkey. All costs except physician charges were retrospectively investigated in the period from hospitalization to discharge. Liver transplantation was performed in 326 patients between 1999 and 2009. This study aims to examine trends of injuries due to landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) and to determine problems during and after the treatment of children and adolescent victims in Turkey. Data from the records of 23 children injured from landmines and UXO were analyzed from April 2001 to October 2008. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of inhibitor development in Turkish patients with hemophilia. Our objective was to characterize the etiologic factors and outcome for stroke in children. We retrospectively reviewed the charts of patients between the ages of 40 days and 94 months (36.5 +/- 23.7 months) with stroke seen at Istanbul Medical Faculty, Department of Pediatrics between January 1995 and December 2003.
