The authors report a case of Mucha-Habermann disease in childhood. Mucha-Habermann disease is not a very well known, though not infrequent, disease. It is characterized by recurrent erythematous-papular-vesicular skin lesions associated with arthralgia or arthritis or large joints. Prognosis is generally favourable although an evolution towards Pityriasis Lichenoides Chronica and/or Mycosis Fungoides is possible. There are not specific laboratory findings for this form. Febrile ulceronecrotic Mucha-Habermann disease (FUMHD) is a severe variant of pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta (PLEVA). We report a case of FUMHD in an 11-year-old boy who subsequently developed neurologic symptoms and was found to have necrotizing vasculitis on brain biopsy. Over 5 years of follow-up, he had one biopsy-proven recurrence of his skin lesions and continued rehabilitation and treatment for residual neurologic complications. Ketoconazole is an orally high effective broad-spectrum antimycotic of the imidazole series. It is very well tolerated and stands out by its long-lasting therapeutic serum levels, lack of development of resistant fungi, simple administration and low toxicity. In 122 patients with fungal diseases studied over a six month period, sixty were seen with dermatophyte infections. Tinea pedis, cruris and ungruium occurred mainly in adult males attending the private hospital and tinea corporis and capitis children attending the University Hospital.
