BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Colonoscopic complications are not frequent. Cases with colon perforations without the presence of pneumoperitoneum are very rare, and those with the development of tension pneumothorax are even rarer. The aim of this article was to present a unique case of the colon perforation during colonoscopic polypectomy.

Necrotising fasciitis is a life-threatening infection of the superficial muscle fascia and the adjacent deep layer of subcutaneous tissue that is often fatal. The unusual case of a segmental duodenal adenomatosis associated with a stage pT1 NO MO periampullary carcinoma and cholelithiasis is reported. A familial adenomatous polyposis syndrome was excluded. The patient was cured by partial pancreaticoduodenectomy.

Patients with familial polyposis coli or Gardner's syndrome are at risk for a variety of extracolonic manifestations. Buffalo strain male and female rats were given methylazoxymethanol acetate (20% solution) intraperitoneally 20 mg/kg body weight weekly for 9 weeks, and killed 27 weeks later. Carcinomas of the large intestine, predominantly in the descending colon, developed in some of the rats. The incidence was higher in male than in female rats. Polypoid carcinomas were observed more often in male rats and sessile carcinomas with metastases in the female rats. Carcinomas were not observed in organs other than the large intestine.

An investigation of the prevalence of hereditary adenomatosis of the colon and rectum (ACR) in Sweden was started in 1959. Up to the end of 1972, 97 families were traced and 80 of them were more fully investigated. In 56 of the latter families there were at least 2 affected members; in the other 24, only one. In all, 340 affected individuals were found, 150 of whom were operated upon with the aim of cure. Of the operated patients 82 had presented with symptoms, the propositi group, while 68 affected individuals were detected during the family investigations and underwent prophylactic operation

AIM: A treatment strategy for patients with a significant polyp or early colon cancer (SPECC) of the rectum presents a challenge due to the significant rate of covert malignancy and lack of standardized assessment. For this reason, NICE recommends multidisciplinary meetings to improve outcomes. BACKGROUND: Serrated polyposis syndrome (SPS) is a rare condition of multiple serrated colorectal polyps and cancers. Colorectal cancer risk is increased in SPS.
OBJECTIVE: We determined the prevalence of SPS in a cohort of patients with large (≥ 2 cm) sessile colorectal polyps and the rate at which the diagnosis was made by the clinicians.

BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS: The study examines the outcomes of the 'inject and cut' endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), for large sessile and flat colorectal polyps.
