Immunoscreening of an Ewing's family of tumour (EFT)-derived cDNA library using formerly described EFT-specific antibodies led to the isolation of a 3.5 kb cDNA, named Ewing's tumour-associated antigen 16 (ETAA16). BACKGROUND: This is the first national study on trends in cancer survival and mortality for children and young adolescents in the Netherlands including unique information on stage at diagnosis.
METHODS: All neoplasms in patients <18 years, diagnosed between 1990 and 2015 (N = 14,060), were derived from the Netherlands Cancer Registry. Cohort and period survival analyses were used to estimate observed survival (OS). BACKGROUND: Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH) is an unusual soft tissue tumor (STT), characterized by recurrences, but rarely metastasis. Later, certain molecular signatures have been identified underlying this tumor, which at times, is either underdiagnosed as a benign vascular tumor, or over diagnosed as a high-grade pleomorphic sarcoma, including a malignant fibrous histiocytoma.

Many solid tumors exhibit a steep dose-response to alkylating agents, and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) allows escalation of the chemotherapy dose for treatment of high risk solid tumors. Little is known about the results of surgical management of late craniofacial abnormalities arising after irradiation of the head and face for treatment of childhood cancers. The clinical records of 10 children (4 males and 6 females) who received 4500 to 6500 rads (mean 5160 rads) of craniofacial radiation between birth and 8 years of age (mean 5 years) and who subsequently had reconstructive surgery were reviewed.
