UNLABELLED: The aims of this work are to study the nursery futures during idiopathic myocardiopathy of peripartum (IMPP), to measure the prevalence of thromboses and spontaneous contrast during the IMPP and to determine their evolution.
METHODOLOGY: It is about a longitudinal exploratory study carried out with the Aristide-Le-Dantec teaching hospital of Dakar, beginning January 2001 to November 2004, having included 33 patients.

Burns are very frequent. Skin cancer on burns scars are one of the known complications. The mechanisms and the risk factors of this disease are not very well known. To review the risk factors and the mechanisms of transformation of burn scars into cancer, we analyzed 67 retrospective cases of Marjolin's ulcer to describe the epidemiological features of the disease in our practice and identify the factors of relapse. OBJECTIVE: This study investigates severe malaria in African adults living in a seasonal endemic area.
DESIGN: A prospective study of all adults admitted with severe malaria over 2 consecutive seasons: October 1990 till January 1991 and October 1991 till January 1992.
SETTING: ICU (15 beds) of Hôpital Principal, Dakar, Sénégal.
PATIENTS: 23 patients: 14 men and 9 women with a mean age of 30 +/- 3 years were included in the study; all fulfilled the 1990 WHO criteria for severe malaria.
RESULTS: At admission, 12 patients were comatose (Glasgow Coma Scale < 10), 7 had generalized convulsions.

Borrelia crocidurae-associated relapsing fever is endemic to West Africa and is considered benign. We report 4 patients with B. crocidurae-associated neurologic symptoms; 2 of their cases had been misdiagnosed. Frequency and severity of this disease could be underestimated; molecular methods and serodiagnostic tests for Lyme disease might be helpful in its detection.

Biliary tract cancers mainly occur in two sites: gallbladder cancer which are adenocarcinomas and intra- and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas.
