BACKGROUND: Infantile seborrhoeic dermatitis (ISD) is a common skin lesion in infants. There may be differences in recommendation for treatment of ISD.
OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy of moisturizer containing licochalcone vs. 1% hydrocortisone for the treatment of ISD.
METHODS: This was a randomized, prospective, split-side, double-blind study that was conducted in 75 infants between the age of 2 weeks and 1 year. Superficial basal cell carcinomas (BCC) comprise 9% to 11% of BCC, and are commonly found on the trunk or limbs. We report a case of a superficial BCC on the scalp that was misdiagnosed and treated as seborrhoeic dermatitis. Any erythematous plaque-type lesion of long duration must have superficial BCC considered in the differential diagnosis.

OBJECTIVE: To demonstrate the effects of a new biphasic oral contraceptive (Oilezz) on cycle control as well as mild to moderate acne and facial seborrhea of healthy fertile Thai women.

Numerous AIDS patients show the typical seborrheic eczema in a very prominent way. For this is an inflammatory disease, combination preparations were taken frequently which contain antimycotics and corticosteroids. We investigated 7 antimycotic compounds in 3 inflammatory models: amorolfin, ciclopiroxolamine (cic), fluconazole, ketoconazole, miconazole, naftifine, and rilopirox. We report a case of a 74-year-old male with a trichilemmal tumor arising in a seborrheic keratosis on the buttock and the results of a cell kinetic study of this tumor using a BrdU staining method. The incidence of trichilemmal tumor arising in a seborrheic keratosis seems to be extremely rare. The labeling index of this tumor was 12.0%; this was a level intermediate between normal epidermis and a variety of hyperproliferative skin diseases such as squamous cell carcinoma, Bowen's disease, and psoriasis vulgaris. Cell proliferation kinetic values were established for the epidermis, hair follicle epithelium, and sebaceous glands of 8 Cocker Spaniels with primary idiopathic seborrhea. Values were established by intradermal pulse labeling injections of tritiated thymidine followed by cutaneous biopsy and autoradiography. The activity of Neo-Eunomin on androgenisation of the skin, seborrhoea, acne, alopecia and hirsutism was investigated in a long-term trial covering 165 patients over 3379 cycles. A retrospective study of nail involvement was made in 15 cases of histiocytosis X (HX). These included seven cases of Letterer-Siwe (LS) disease, four cases of Hand-Schüller-Christian disease, and four cases of eosinophilic granuloma seen at Ramathibodi Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand, during the years 1970 to 1981. Management of hirsutism with high-dose oral cyproterone acetate (CPA) is associated with a failure rate of about 30%. The present investigation analyses the efficacy of parenteral CPA administration in non-tumorous hyperandrogenism. Forty two female patients with strong acne and oiliness were studied all of them were treated with a tablet daily of 2 mg. of cyprosterone Acetate and 0.05 mg of ethinyl oestradiol for 3 weeks and a week without it. We found intolerance to the treatment in 9 out of 42 patients and a high percentage of cure or marked improvement in 96.9% of patients. In conclusion this drug is a good help to the treatment of female acne with seborrheic skin.
