The purpose of this retrospective study is to evaluate the long-term ophthalmological outcome in children with retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) who were treated for threshold disease with indirect laser photocoagulation. 107 eyes of 56 patients with threshold ROP treated with indirect laser photocoagulation and 202 eyes of 101 control patients with spontaneously regressed ROP were included. PURPOSE: To characterize the training received by pediatric ophthalmology and retina fellows in retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) management.
METHODS: Pediatric ophthalmology and retina fellowship programs were emailed a Web-based survey to assess fellowship training in ROP management.

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of laserbrasion (the combination of carbon dioxide laser and dermasanding) in the removal of heavy perioral wrinkles.

PURPOSE: To evaluate structural and functional outcomes in one-year old patients, treated for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) with transpupillary diode laser photocoagulation.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: 58 children (116 eyes) 12 months old, after treatment for ROP with diode laser photocoagulation, were examined. BACKGROUND: Retinal detachment in pediatric vasoproliferative disorders such as retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) and familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR) have an exudative and tractional component. Younger eyes have an especially adherent posterior hyaloid. Contraction of the posterior hyaloid interface may lead to tractional retinal detachment.
METHODS: Retrospective chart review of six eyes (four ROP, two FEVR) with diffuse contraction of the posterior hyaloid resulting in retinal detachment. Fundus photographs and optical coherence tomography findings (one eye) are presented.

OBJECTIVE: To determine the long-term outcome of treatment for threshold retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in one UK unit.
METHODS: A total of 35 infants diagnosed with threshold ROP were treated by a single ophthalmologist (DGC) between 1987 and 1998. The parents of the 29 surviving patients were contacted; 21 brought their child for special review of acuity, motility, refraction and fundoscopy (Group 1).
