BACKGROUND: Pyloroplasty with myotomy and sutured closure is a surgical treatment for gastric outlet obstruction. It has not been previously performed at flexible endoscopy.

OBJECTIVES: Prosthetic reinforcement in the surgical repair of pelvic prolapse by the vaginal approach is currently on the increase. However, this technique is not without tolerance-related problems. The most frequently described complication is prosthesis exposure, including erosion and delayed healing. It is independent of a granuloma and a major infection as pelvic cellulitis. During a 5-year period, 74 patients with pancreatic injuries were managed by distal pancreatic resection at nine referral trauma centers. Patient ages ranged from 4 to 72 years. Injury mechanism was blunt trauma in 34 (46%) patients, gunshot wound in 27 (36%), stab wound in 11 (15%), and shotgun blast in two (3%). Eighty-three femoral anastomotic false aneurysms occurring in 51 patients were diagnosed from 1972 through 1982. Twenty-two (27%) presented with acute events. Seventy (84%) were confirmed by sonography and/or arteriography. Bilaterality (29%), recurrence (18%), and associated aortic false aneurysms (8%) were significant problems.
