A carboxylic acid ligand, (Z)-4-(4-acetylphenylamino)-4-oxobut-2-enoic acid (APA-1), and its triphenyl-(APA-2) and tributyl-tin(IV) (APA-3) compounds have been synthesized and investigated for their binding with ds.DNA using UV-visible spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and viscosity measurements under physiological conditions of pH and temperature. In this study, diacetylmonoximebenzoylhydrazone (L(1)H(2)) and 1,4-diacetylbenzene bis(benzoyl hydrazone) (L(2)H(2)) were synthesized by the condensation of benzohydrazide with diacetyl monoxime and 1,4-diacetylbenzene, respectively. Nitrite may be a source for nitric oxide (*NO), particularly in highly acidic environments, such as the stomach. Diet products contribute also with reductants that dramatically increase the production of *NO from nitrite. Herein we report the effect of various additives (viz. alcohols, cycloalcohols, amino acids, sugars, ureas) on the clouding phenomenon observed in 50mM chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPZ) drug solutions (prepared in 10mM sodium phosphate buffer). A simple procedure is described for the simultaneous extraction and determination of betulin and betulinic acid in white birch bark. The extraction was checked using different solvents: dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, acetone, chloroform, methanol and 95% ethanol (aqueous solution, v/v).
