We report 2 cases of ureteral obstruction caused by vasculitis (polyarteritis nodosa and systemic lupus erythematosus). Case 1, in which the diagnosis was unknown preoperatively, was managed surgically with ureteral resection and reimplantation. Case 2 was managed medically with chlorambucil and corticosteroids, which resulted in resolution of ureteral obstruction.

Prolonged clotting times were observed in a patient with spontaneous hemorrhage. Analysis showed severe factor X deficiency due to clearance by a noninhibitory antibody. Lymphadenopathy identified on imaging led to diagnosis of marginal B-cell lymphoma. Treatment of lymphoma with rituximab and chlorambucil resulted in complete disappearance of the bleeding disorder.

A patient with chronic lymphocytic leukemia in whom a carcinoma of the gall bladder was previously found is described. The patient was treated with prednisone and chlorambucil and developed a significant lymphadenopathy. A biopsy of one of the lymph nodes revealed the coexistence of Kaposi's sarcoma and chronic lymphocytic leukemia in the same node. This and the presence of three malignancies in the same patient are discussed.

A case of primary extragonadal yolk sac tumor occurring in the retroperitoneum of a young adult male was studied. The chemotherapy of this tumor has not previously been described for cases of extragonadal origin. A combination of cyclophosphamide, vinblastine, bleomycin, cis-diamminedichloroplatinum, actinomycin-D, and chlorambucil was used. A partial response and dramatic prolongation of survival was achieved, compared with previously reported cases.
