In order to elucidate the circumstances of sexual crimes, the forensic laboratory is increasingly forced to consider whether the offender has used a condom. The detection presented here depends on Lycopodium spores used in several condom coatings. They can easily be detected e.g. in vaginal swabs. A screening of 40 various condoms available in Germany revealed that 32 (= 80%) were coated with Lycopodium spores. The microscopical investigation of the spores is explained and some sources of error in interpretation are discussed.

Unprotected sexual intercourse places a substantial number of adolescents at risk for sexually transmitted disease (STD) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. BACKGROUND: This study explored the role of masculinity and perceived condom use skills in African-American men's abusive response to female partners' condom requests.
METHODS: Eighty African-American men aged 18-29 years completed measures on sexual behaviour, responses to condom requests, condom use self-efficacy and other masculine constructs. Men also were tested for sexually transmissible infections.

BACKGROUND: Despite the legal acceptance of homosexuality in India, it remains a social taboo, resulting in various challenges being faced by homosexual males. These challenges mainly include issues such as addiction/drug use and inconsistent and/ or incorrect condom usage which increase the risk of acquiring sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV among them. OBJECTIVES: To estimate the prevalence of simultaneous use of multiple condoms (SUMC) and identify the characteristics of the multiple condoms users.
STUDY DESIGN: Cross-sectional survey among military men from a purposively selected Cambodian military region. Military men were interviewed face to face.
RESULTS: From the 1638 respondents, 40% never had sex with female sex workers (FSWs), 55% had used condom(s), and 5% had unprotected sex at their last encounter with a FSW. Among those reporting sex with FSWs, 21% had used multiple condoms simultaneously at their last sex with a FSW.

To evaluate compliance with the suggestion that condoms be used during risky sexual activity, 206 college students' use of condoms during genital and anal sex was surveyed. Analysis indicated that 78% engaged in genital intercourse, and while 20% always used a condom, 44% used condoms less than half the time. Of the 10% engaged in anal sex, 90% did not use condoms.
