OBJECTIVE: To use wearable near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to determine the effect of Buerger exercises on diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) healing.
METHODS: Study authors enrolled 50 consecutive patients in a 1-year prospective observational study of DFUs. The patients were divided into groups by their arterial statuses: group A (no peripheral arterial disease [PAD]), group B (PAD without angioplasty), and group C (PAD with angioplasty). Hemoglobin E is largely confined to south and southeast Asia. The association between hemoglobin E (HbE) and malaria is less clear than that of hemoglobin S and C. AIM: To investigate the nature of dyslipidemia and its diversity in patients with systemic AA amyloidosis.
METHODS: The reports of the kidney biopsies performed due to nephrotic proteinuria (>3.5 g/day/1.73 m(2)) with preserved renal function [glomerular filtration rate (GFR) >60 mL/min/1.73 m(2)] were reviewed. Clinical and laboratory data of the patients with systemic AA amyloidosis and primary glomerulonephritis (PG) were analyzed.
RESULTS: A total of 104 (systemic AA amyloidosis: 43, PG: 61) patients were included in the study. Proteinuria and GFR levels were similar in both the groups.

Seventy premature infants (birthweight 1.75 kg or less, gestational age 33 weeks or less) with hemoglobin less than 10 g/dL and hematocrit less than 30% were studied and randomly divided into three groups. Thirty-four patients with abnormal hemoglobin were studied through 42 pregnancies under one obstetrician. There were 30 patients with sickle cell anemia (HbSS), two with sickle cell hemoglobin C disease (HbSC) and two with homozygous hemoglobin C disease (HbCC).
