Hypertrichosis and hirsutism can be signs of underlying conditions, some of which may be life-threatening. They also can result in significant psychosocial distress for patients. INTRODUCTION: Anti-EGFR targeted anti-cancer treatment is associated with various skin adverse events. Cetuximab is often associated with acneiform papules and skin disorders. Hypertrichosis cited in face pinnae and eyelash trichomegaly are seldom described.
CASE REPORT: A 72-year-old female cancer patient presented deteriorating facial-pinnae hypertrichosis and eyelash prolongation post cetuximab infusion.

Hypertrichosis refers to the growth of hair, of an excessive amount and thickness, on any part of the body. It must be distinguished from hirsutism which is characterized by excess growth of hair in androgen-dependent areas on the upper lip, chin, chest, linea alba, thigh and axilla. Hypertrichosis may be localized or generalized, and congenital or acquired. Hypertrichosis is characterized by increased hair growth independent of androgen excess. There are various causes of acquired localized hypertrichosis including chronic irritation and inflammation. Localised hypertrichosis following pentavalent vaccine has not been described previously in Indian literature. We hereby report a case of a 4-month-old healthy infant presenting with focal circumscribed areas of hypertrichosis over anterolateral aspect of bilateral thighs at the site of vaccination.

A 56-year-old woman with primary open-angle glaucoma in an only eye presented with hypertrichosis after using Latanoprost to lower IOP. After trabeculectomy with adjunctive Mitomycin C, IOP was well controlled and antiglaucoma medications could be discontinued. At eight-month follow-up the abnormal eyelashes had disappeared.

We report the case of a non-HIV patient suffering from a metastatic renal adenocarcinoma who developed trichomegaly 3 months before death. The patient also developed generalized hypertrichosis of the terminal hair, a feature that has been previously described in malnutrition.
