UNLABELLED: Patients with cleft lip often undergo a primary rhinoplasty at the time of lip repair, and further surgical correction with secondary cleft rhinoplasty (SCR) is often warranted for improved form and function. Cleft lip and palate malformations affect the ability of infants to adequately feed. Choosing the appropriate feeding technique must allow functioning of the suck-swallow-breathing mechanism and development of oral-motor function. Feeding in the postsurgical setting should be returned to normal as soon as possible to maintain adequate nutritional intake and good wound healing, an essential component to cleft repair. This article outlines the complex mechanism of wound healing, gives options to augment the process of aesthetic scar healing, and presents feeding modifications.

Photodynamic immunotherapy is a promising strategy for cancer treatment. However, the dysfunctional tumor vasculature results in tumor hypoxia and the low efficiency of drug delivery, which in turn restricts the anticancer effect of photodynamic immunotherapy. In this study, we designed photosensitive lipid nanoparticles. The synthesized PFBT@Rox Lip nanoparticles could produce type I/II reactive oxygen species (ROS) by electron or energy transfer through PFBT under light irradiation. BACKGROUND: Tooth replantation after traumatic avulsion or transplantation is a challenge in oral surgery. A special method named auto-alloplastic replantation, in which a titanium post is used after extraoral endodontic treatment, combines several advantages. The treatment is performed in one step with no further endodontic intervention, no wide root canal instrumentation, no recontamination, and reduced endodontic infection. This is the first report on replantation of an ectopic tooth in a patient with a cleft lip and alveolus using this method.
