PURPOSE: Sedative, anxiolytic, and hypnotic (sleep-promoting) medications are extensively prescribed in clinical practice. Most are benzodiazepine (BZ) receptor agonists, but other drug classes are prescribed as well. OBJECTIVES: The glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) semaglutide has several branded versions, including Wegovy, which was initially approved for chronic weight management. BACKGROUND: Severe coal workers' pneumoconiosis (CWP) is increasingly common, and sometimes requires lung transplantation.
METHODS: Using Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network data, we updated the trend for CWP-related lung transplants, described CWP patients who have been waitlisted but not transplanted, and characterized the primary payer of medical costs for CWP-related and other occupational lung disease transplants.

INTRODUCTION: Beginning in 2024, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) extended eligibility for full Medicare Part D low-income subsidies (LIS) to all partial-subsidy recipients but did not address the issue of low participation rates for both full and partial subsidies.
