Extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKL) is a rare lymphoid neoplasm, which in the past has been grouped with a variety of granulomatous diseases. We describe the case of a 56-year-old man who was admitted for treatment of a progressive destruction of his hard palate, septum, nasal cartilage, and soft palate that had been caused by chronic cocaine inhalation. From 1981 to 1986 in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, Institute of Stomatology, Medical Academy in Warsaw 85 patients were treated for carcinoma of the upper gingiva and palate. INTRODUCTION: Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinoma is a distinct neoplasm of the salivary gland composed of luminal and non-luminal tumor cells admixed in varying proportions. Its resemblance to lobular carcinoma of the breast had led to its earlier nomenclature of 'terminal duct carcinoma'. Most patients present with an asymptomatic mass in the hard palate. Granular cell tumor is a rare benign neoplasm most commonly appears in the head and neck region, especially in the tongue, cheek mucosa, and palate. Occurrence in limbs is even rarer. These tumors account for approximately 0.5% of all soft tissue tumors. Granular cell tumor can also affect other organs including skin, breast, and lungs. Local recurrence and metastasis is potentially higher in malignant forms with poor prognosis in respect to the benign counterparts. The average diameter of the tumor is usually about 2-3 cm. We report a granular cell tumor in the leg with an unusual size.
