PURPOSE: To determine the cause, associated factors, visual results, and systemic morbidity in patients less than 40 years old with retinal arterial occlusions.
METHODS: We studied 27 eyes with nontraumatic retinal arterial occlusions in 21 patients less than 40 years old (range, 22 to 38 years; mean, 28 years).

The records of 36 patients (37 eyes) with central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO, 19 patients, 19 eyes), branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO, 15 patients, 16 eyes), and cilioretinal artery occlusion (CIAO, 2 patients, 2 eyes) were reviewed with respect to underlying systemic disorders. An isolated retinal arterial aneurysm was found postmortem in the eye of a 75-year-old hypertensive woman, and multiple aneurysms were in the enucleated eye of a 68-year-old hypertensive man with neovascular glaucoma. The aneurysmal sites showed thickening of the vessel walls with hyaline, fibrin, and foamy macrophages. Fresh or organized thrombus partially filled the aneurysmal lumina. PURPOSE: To report fundus autofluorescence (FAF) characteristics in ophthalmic artery occlusion.
METHODS: A 30-year-old male presented with complaints of sudden diminution of vision in the right eye following nasal polypectomy. The patient was evaluated and follow-up of the patient was done, including Optical coherence tomography (OCT), Fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), Indo-cyanine green angiography (ICGA) and Fundus autofluorescence (FAF).
