Application of ANN and RSM for Rhodamine B and Safranine-O Decolorization on Zinc-Carbon Battery Waste Derived Ag/CoFe-LDH/rGO Catalyst.

The present work is first aimed at recovering graphite from carbon rods of waste zinc-carbon (Zn-C) batteries for applications such as wastewater treatment, in order to contribute to the development of a sustainable environment. Then, a composite material, cobalt-iron layered double hydroxide combination with reduced graphene oxide, and with subsequent Ag nanoparticles deposition via NaBH4 reduction method (Ag/CoFe-LDH/rGO) was prepared for the catalytic activity of Rhodamine B (RhB) and Safranine-O (SO) as model contaminants from aquatic media. The catalytic activity of RhB and SO by Ag/CoFe-

Modulating temperature for Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) synthesis via hot injection method and studying the photocatalytic efficiencies for the degradation of rhodamine 6G and methylene blue pollutants.

Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) was synthesized following hot injection method and the process was optimized by varying temperature conditions. Four samples at different temperatures viz., 200, 250, 300 and 350 °C were prepared and analyzed using different characterization techniques. Based on the correlation between XRD, Raman and XPS, we conclude that the formation of ZnS and SnS2 occurs at 350 °C but at 200 °C there is no breakdown of the complex as per XRD. According to Raman and XPS analysis, as the temperature rises, the bonds between the metals become weaker, which is visibly seen in Raman and XPS due

Photodegradation of textile dye Rhodamine B over a novel biopolymer-metal complex wool-Pd/CdS photocatalysts under visible light irradiation.

A novel biopolymer-metal complex wool-Pd/CdS photocatalysts were prepared and exhibited high activity for photodegradation of Rh B under visible light irradiation. The wool-Pd could not only enhance the utilization rate of noble metal Pd but also significantly improve the activity of dye degradation. Wool-Pd was able to introduce Pd and PdS to effectively prohibit the recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes. The optimal weight percentage of wool-Pd in the photocatalyst was found to be 0.5wt%, which resulted in a good result of degradation of Rh B under visible light. It is obviousl

Convenient and efficient FRET platform featuring a rigid biphenyl spacer between rhodamine and BODIPY: transformation of 'turn-on' sensors into ratiometric ones with dual emission.

We have connected a borondipyrromethene (BODIPY) donor to the 5' position of a tetramethylrhodamine (TMR) acceptor to form a high efficiency … ved for the further modifications, which was as convenient as those carbonyl groups on the original rhodamines without connection to donors. For this reason, BRP is clearly differentiated from the previous ratiometric sensors based on donor rhodamine systems. To illustrate its value as a versatile platform, we introduced typical Hg(2+) receptors into BRP, th …

Trans-generational exposure to low levels of rhodamine B does not adversely affect litter size or liver function in murine mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIA.

MPS IIIA is a lysosomal storage disorder caused by mutations in the sulphamidase gene, resulting in the accumulation of heparan sulphate glycosaminoglycans (HS GAGs). Symptoms predominantly manifest in the CNS and there is no current therapy that effectively addresses neuropathology in MPS IIIA patients. Recent studies in MPS IIIA mice have shown that rhodamine B substrate deprivation therapy (SDT) (also termed substrate reduction therapy/SRT) inhibits GAG biosynthesis and, improves both somatic and CNS disease pathology. Acute overexposure to high doses of rhodamine B results in liver toxicit

Stable Encapsulation and Responsive Release of Dyes via Noncovalent Molecular Lock Strategy: A Case Study of Rhodamine B Based Fluorescent Hydrogel Microspheres.

Hydrogel fluorescent microspheres function as versatile tracers with applications spanning across biomedicine, complex plasma systems, hydrodynamics, and drug delivery. However, the controlled release of fluorescent material in hydrogel microspheres is challenging to achieve. The fluorescent hydrogel microsphere (namely poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate@rhodamine B-tannic acid, PEGDA@RhB-TA) was fabricated by incorporating tannic acid and RhB into PEGDA microspheres. The stable encapsulation and responsive release of RhB can be achieved by leveraging the non-covalent interactions between TA and

FeCu bimetallic active sites construction via hexagonal boron nitride electron regulation for high-performance electro-Fenton degradation of Rhodamine B.

The development of efficient, stable, and easily recyclable cathodes is crucial for advancing the wide application of Electro-Fenton (EF) technology. This study introduces a novel design strategy by integrating hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) into MIL-101(FeCu) via electrospinning-carbonization techniques, yielding a self-supporting membrane electrode (HBN-FeCu-C/NFME) featuring distinctive dual-site active centers. The h-BN-mediated electronic modulation, which is validated through XAFS spectroscopy, effectively leads to the formation of Fe-B, Fe-N, and Cu-N coordination bonds. This novel conf

Labeling of oligosaccharides and N-linked glycans by a rhodamine-based fluorescent tag for analysis by capillary electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescence and mass spectrometry detection.

In this work, we present the synthesis and application of fluorescent rhodamine B hydrazide for the derivatization of simple oligosaccharides and complex glycans using a hydrazone formation chemistry approach. The labeling conditions and the experimental setup of CE/LIF were optimized by analyzing oligosaccharide standards. The CE/LIF separations were performed in polybrene-coated capillaries eliminating the need for the purification step after derivatization. The addition of methanol to the background electrolyte significantly increased the LIF detection sensitivity reaching the limits of det

Rational design of an ultrabright quinolinium-fused rhodamine turn-on fluorescent probe for highly sensitive detection of SO2 derivatives: Applications in food safety and bioimaging.

Sulfur dioxide (SO2) is an essential signaling molecule involved in various physiological processes within living organisms. Bisulfite (HSO3-) possesses antioxidant, antimicrobial, and preservative properties, making it a common food additive. However, elevated levels of SO2 or excessive HSO3- intake can lead to a range of diseases, highlighting the importance of detecting SO2 and its derivatives (HSO3-/SO32-). This study presents a quinolinium-fused rhodamine fluorogenic probe (RQB-R) for ultrafast, highly selective, and sensitive detection of HSO3-. The probe operates via a dual-response mec

Hydrophilic rhodamine B-loaded / boronic acid-modified graphene oxide nanocomposite as a substitute of enzyme-labeled second antibody for ultrasensitive detection of antibodies.

Enzyme-labeled secondary antibody is often used to amplify the output signal in the process of antibody detection. However, its preparation process is complex and time-consuming. Herein, we fabricated an innovative hydrophilic rhodamine B-loaded / boronic acid-modified graphene oxide (HRBGO) nanocomposite, used as a substitute of enzyme-labeled second antibody. The synthetic HRBGO was loaded with generous rhodamine B and modified with boronic acid. Therefore, the HRBGO could selectively label the carbohydrate chains of Fc fragment of primary antibody through specific boronate affinity recognit

Tracking of Stem Cells from Human Exfoliated Deciduous Teeth Labeled with Molday ION Rhodamine-B during Periodontal Bone Regeneration in Rats.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Chronic periodontitis can lead to alveolar bone resorption and eventually tooth loss. Stem cells from exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED) are appropriate bone regeneration seed cells. To track the survival, migration, and differentiation of the transplanted SHED, we used super paramagnetic iron oxide particles (SPIO) Molday ION Rhodamine-B (MIRB) to label and monitor the transplanted cells while repairing periodontal bone defects. METHODS AND RESULTS: We determined an appropriate dose of MIRB for labeling SHED by examining the growth and osteogenic differentiation of

Induced ion-pair formation/ de-aggregation of rhodamine B octadecyl ester for anion optical sensing: Towards ibuprofen selective optical sensors.

A novel approach is explored to result in anion selective nanostructural optodes, that do not require the presence of selective ionophore. The sensing principle proposed is based on interactions of polarity sensitive dye with anions, leading to change of the chromophore group environment, resulting in increase of emission for increase of analyte concentration. To induce interactions of the analyte with the dye precise matching of properties of analyte and receptor is required. It is shown that the careful balancing of composition of nanostructural probes allows fine tuning of linear response r

Fabrication of Fe3O4@SiO2@TiO2 nanoparticles supported by graphene oxide sheets for the repeated adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B under UV irradiation.

A quaternary nanocomposite Fe3O4@SiO2@TiO2/graphene oxide (GO) was for the first time successfully synthesized in this work for the repeated use in simultaneous adsorption and photocatalytic degradation of aromatically structured chemical pollutants. The resulting sample was characterized by TEM, XRD, FTIR, TG-DTG, XPS, PL, and VSM. Its photocatalytic activity was evaluated in the photocatalytic degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) under high-pressure mercury lamp irradiation. The results showed that about 63% of RhB was absorbed onto the prepared Fe3O4@SiO2@TiO2/GO nanocomposites by just 30 minut

Study on the fluorescence resonance energy transfer between CdTe QDs and butyl-rhodamine B in the presence of CTMAB and its application on the detection of Hg(II).

The thioglycolic acid-functionalized CdTe quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized in aqueous solution using safe and low-cost inorganic salts as precursors. Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) system was constructed between CdTe QDs (donor) and butyl-rhodamine B (BRB) (acceptor) in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMAB). CTMAB micelles formed in water reduced the distance between the donor and the acceptor significantly and thus improved the FRET efficiency, which resulted in an obvious fluorescence enhancement of the acceptor. Several factors which impacted the fluoresce

CoFe2O4 prepared from cobalt-doped coal-gangue-leached iron as an effective peroxymonosulfate activator to degrade rhodamine B: preparation, application and degradation mechanism.

The typical organic dye rhodamine B (RhB), which poses a serious threat to freshwater safety, could be effectively eliminated via an advanced oxidation technology based on peroxymonosulfate (PMS). Developing efficient catalysts is the key to this process. Herein, CoFe2O4 (CFO) catalysts were synthesized via co-precipitation, hydrothermal, and sol-gel methods using an activated acid leaching/extracting/back-extracting process to recover iron from coal gangue as the Fe source and chemically pure cobalt chloride hexahydrate as the cobalt source.
