The stability of canine urine samples is essential when the samples cannot be analyzed immediately. The objective of this study was to investigate the stability of canine urine samples at room temperature and under refrigerated conditions. Samples from 20 dogs were collected, divided, and stored at 4°C and 20°C. The samples were examined up to 48 h after collection for specific gravity, pH, protein, bilirubin, glucose, ketones, and sediment and at 4 h and 24 h for bacterial growth. All fluid intake and urine output were monitored and measured in 103 consecutive women with normal blood pressure and without a history of pre-existing renal disease during induced labour for various indications.
