Vaccine-associated anterior uveitis (VAAU) is an uncommon ocular inflammatory phenotype reported after several vaccine platforms. It describes anterior segment inflammation occurring after vaccination when infectious, autoimmune, idiopathic, medication-related, and other possible causes have been reasonably excluded. The current literature indicates that post-vaccination uveitis is rare relative to the scale of immunization, although anterior uveitis is frequently reported among post-vaccination ocular inflammatory events. Evidence remains limited by reliance on case reports, case series, retr…

PURPOSE: To describe the most important cause of infectious posterior uveitis in pediatric patients.
METHODS: Review of the literature.
RESULTS: The most important causes of infectious uveitis in pediatric patients are: cat-scratch disease, toxocariasis, tuberculosis, viral diseases and toxoplasmosis. Ocular manifestations include retinitis, neuroretinitis, choroidal granulomas, peripheral granulomas and posterior pole granulomas.
CONCLUSION: Infectious posterior uveitis is a challenging subject and should be considered in the differential diagnosis of any posterior uveitis in children. Inf…

PURPOSE: To report a case of bilateral Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH)-like granulomatous pan uveitis secondary to brentuximab vedotin (BV) administration to treat for classical Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL).
OBSERVATIONS: A case of bilateral pan uveitis is described, following administration of BV, with features of VKH-like uveitis: presence of inflammatory cells in the anterior and posterior segment, multiple small serous detachments around the optic disc and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) folds confirmed by optical coherence tomography (OCT) as well as hypocyanesent dark dots, disc hyperfluorescence…

PURPOSE: To present the largest series reported so far of brimonidine induced granulomatous anterior uveitis.
METHODS: Retrospective chart review of patients with chronic glaucoma on treatment with brimonidine presenting with anterior uveitis.
RESULTS: 19 eyes of 12 patients with chronic glaucoma developed anterior uveitis with granulomatous keratic precipitates after being treated with brimonidine for periods of 7 days to 5 years (mean 19.7 months, +18.6 months). One patient had a gap of 1 year between onset in one eye and onset in the other. Ten eyes (52.6%) had concurrent granulomatous co…

PURPOSE: To present a case of bilateral granuloma annulare anterior uveitis.
DESIGN: Case report.
METHODS: Clinical case presentation and review of literature.
RESULTS: A 72-year-old woman with a history of granuloma annulare (GA) presented with acute bilateral granulomatous anterior uveitis. General physical exam revealed hypo- and hyper-pigmented punctate and annular skin lesions on both arms characteristic of GA. Infectious and autoimmune workup revealed a mildly elevated angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) level. Her uveitis resolved with topical prednisolone and homatropine.
