INTRODUCTION: A masquerade syndrome is an atypical presentation of a neoplastic process that mimics an inflammatory condition. In this paper, we focus on orbital pseudocellulitis.
CASE SERIES: Our case series includes 5 retinoblastoma patients with orbital pseudocellulitis at presentation. In 3 patients the disease was bilateral, in 1 trilateral, and in 1 unilateral. IMPORTANCE: Intravitreous injections of melphalan hydrochloride are increasingly used in the treatment of vitreous seeding of retinoblastoma. Although this technique can save eyes otherwise destined for enucleation, ocular salvage may be accompanied by local toxic effects. Posterior segment toxic effects in this context are well established. This report describes the toxic effects on the anterior segment following intravitreous administration of melphalan.

INTRODUCTION: Local anesthesia for eye surgery was first described in 1884; later Knapp popularized retrobulbar anesthesia. To reduce risks, peribulbar anesthesia appeared in the 1970s. Still used today, periocular anesthesia is not without complications, in particular the risk of ocular perforation.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: Three patients were referred to our department for diagnosis and treatment of an intravitreous hemorrhage following cataract surgery. We report the clinical features, treatment, and visual outcome for these three patients.

Endogenous endophthalmitis is a rare but potentially blinding complication of neonatal sepsis. Early diagnosis and aggressive treatment are essential to avoid vision loss. Therapeutic options include systemic and intravitreal antibiotics, as well as vitrectomy in selected cases. METHODS: We examined a nonrandomized and uncontrolled series of 14 eyes of 14 patients who were followed up with serial ophthalmoscopy, ultrasonography, and photography. Transpupillary thermotherapy was performed upon documented evidence of tumor growth.
