PURPOSE: Among the options for surgical management of pediatric glaucoma, destruction of the ciliary body reduces aqueous production and, consequently, intraocular pressure (IOP). Compared to more invasive filtering and shunt procedures, cyclodestruction is an attractive option for control of IOP in pediatric glaucomas.
METHODS: The relative reduction in IOP, duration of effect, and comparable safety and efficacy of transscleral cyclophotocoagulation (TSCP) and endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation (ECP) in pediatric patients with glaucoma was studied in this retrospective chart review.

This report describes the de novo appearance of a choroidal osteoma occurring 8 years after laser photocoagulation for previous branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). A 62-year-old man presented with an asymptomatic yellowish orange lesion in the macula on fundus examination of his left eye during a regular follow-up visit for bilateral BRVO associated with macular edema that had previously been treated with laser photocoagulation. The lesion was observed for 1.5 years until a decrease in vision occurred. Fundus photography revealed a yellow-to-orange, well-defined lesion in the macular region.

23 infants (46 eyes) with zone I retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) were examined. Zone I ROP is characterized with distinctive clinical presentation, course, prognosis and treatment results. After cataract surgery, a 69-year-old man presented with hypotony and choroidal effusion followed by retinal pigment epithelium tear and exudative detachment of the retina. Vitrectomy with fluid-air exchange successfully led to reattachment of all layers.To the authors' knowledge, this is the first reported case of successful surgical management of exudative detachment secondary to retinal pigment epithelium tears.
