PURPOSE: To demonstrate that silicone metacarpophalangeal (MCP) arthroplasty provides excellent long-term outcomes with a low complication rate in osteoarthritis patients.

Proximal interphalangeal joint arthroplasty through a volar approach preserves the extensor apparatus, which allows for early active rehabilitation.
