Self-assembled hADSCs/hNSCs spheroids combined with 3D printed M-shaped GelMA/Pu Scaffolds: Creating histologically biomimetic engineered cartilage that meets the characteristics of alar cartilage.

BACKGROUND: Traditional cartilage grafts for nasal alar retraction repair often lack sufficient elasticity and histocompatibility, leading to suboptimal clinical outcomes. To address this challenge, we developed a biomimetic engineered cartilage scaffold that combines self-assembled human adipose-derived stem cell (hADSC)/human nasal septal chondrocyte (hNSC) spheroids with a 3D-printed M-shaped polyurethane (Pu)/gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) hybrid scaffold, aiming to replicate the extracellular matrix (ECM) components and mechanical properties of native alar cartilage. METHODS: The M-shaped

Broad-Spectrum Anti-Adhesive Coating Based on an Extracellular Polymer from a Marine Cyanobacterium.

Medical device-associated infections are a major health threat, representing about half of all hospital-acquired infections. Current strategies to prevent this problem based on device coatings with antimicrobial compounds (antibiotics or antiseptics) have proven to be insufficient, often toxic, and even promoting bacterial resistance. Herein, we report the development of an infection-preventive coating (CyanoCoating) produced with an extracellular polymer released by the marine cyanobacterium Cyanothece sp. CCY 0110. CyanoCoating was prepared by spin-coating and its bacterial anti-adhesive eff

Measuring toluene diisocyanate concentrations in accordance with the ACGIH® inhalable fraction and vapor (IFV) notation.

Toluene diisocyanate (TDI) is an irritant (skin, eye and respiratory) and a sensitizer. This compound is used to manufacture polyurethane materials such as flexible foams. The use of isocyanates may lead to exposure by inhalation and/or skin contact and isocyanates are recognized as a cause of occupational asthma. The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH®) recommends a threshold limit value (TLV) for TDI of 1 part per billion (ppb) (7 μg m-3) with the inhalable fraction and vapor (IFV) notation. This notation means that the inhalable fraction of particles and the va
