BACKGROUND: Non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM), considered to be less virulent and being pathogenic. People with normal immune function are less likely to be infected. Systemic disseminated infections that spread to the abdominal tissues and organs such as the liver rarely occur with NTM.

Patients with various respiratory infections, primarily wet cases of bronchiectasis, were treated with lividomycin (LVDM) at a dose of 1 g/day for about a week. The results obtained are as follows: 1. Of the 15 patients with refractory bronchiectasis who had previously been treated with various other antibiotics, 11 patients (73.3%) responded to LVDM. METHODS: The database of a health care center specialized on tropical medicine was screened for patients with history of migration and one of the following diagnoses: Cystic echinococcosis, tuberculosis, schistosomiasis, visceral leishmaniosis, and neurocysticercosis. Our study, therefore, sought to systematically determine the national association between temperature and the incidence of infectious diseases, categorized into respiratory, gastrointestinal and enterovirus, and vector-borne categories.
