Patients with cervical radicular lesions present themselves with neck pain and stiffness on the one side and with neurological deficits of radicular distribution on the other side. The most frequent cause is a root compression due to a herniated disk or spondylotic changes of the spine. The management of the patients and the differential diagnosis are discussed.

Patients with severe ischemic symptoms that fail to respond to steroid therapy, despite a dramatic and continuous drop in the erythrocyte sedimentation rate, may require arterial bypass surgery to overcome arterial ischemia caused by arteritis. We report the case of a patient with bilateral subclavian artery occlusion secondary to giant cell arteritis who responded well to steroid therapy and arterial reconstructive surgery. The patient has remained well for five years.

A young patient who had traumatic amputation of left arm developed extensive chylothorax on right side of chest. The pathophysiology appears to be left subclavian thrombosis secondary to gross sepsis of the amputation stump which resulted in occlusion of thoracic duct opening and chylothorax. The child was successfully treated by closed chest tube drainage.

A case report of a de novo deletion in the short arm of chromosome 7 is presented (46,XX,del(7)(p21----pter)). The five-month-old girl's major symptoms are: trigonocephalus with craniosynostosis, median bony forehead bulge, high palate, atrial septal defect, anal atresia and perineal fistula, thumb insertion far to ulnar-proximal, and a slightly retarded psychomotor development. The other cases with monosomy 7p described in the literature are reviewed.

Six cases of arterial insufficiency of the arm secondary to giant cell arteritis are described, all in elderly white women.
