Although pancreatic acinar metaplasia in the gastric mucosa is well recognized in chronic gastritis, gastric carcinoma with acinar differentiation is very rare. We studied the effects of a forskolin suspension on intraocular pressure (IOP) in normal albino and pigmented rabbits and in alpha-chymotrypsin induced ocular hypertensive rabbits. A series of pyridinium and phenyl carboxylate derivatives of 3-alkyl-N-hydroxysuccinimide has been synthesized; the compounds have been shown to be highly effective, time-dependent inactivators of human leukocyte elastase. The cationic inhibitor having an isobutyl side chain as the P1 residue (3) was found to be the most effective. Human leukocyte cathepsin G and chymotrypsin are also inactivated by these compounds.

This study comprises 39 patients with duodenal ulcer, 113 patients with partial gastrectomy, 9 with total gastrectomy and 6 patients with gastroenterostomy. After ingestion of a standard meal the intestinal contents were collected during 4 subsequent periods of 20 minutes each.
