Dentigerous cysts are benign odontogenic cysts associated with the crowns of permanent teeth. They are usually single in occurrence and located in the mandible. The purpose of this case report was to describe the management of 2 dentigerous cysts in children. The treatments instituted were the extraction of the deciduous tooth involved followed by marsupialization in the first case and enucleation in the second one. Both treatments allowed rapid healing of the lesion and eruption of the permanent teeth without the need for orthodontic treatment.

Lateral crossbite on mixed dentition does not always cause facial asymmetry or functionally abnormal movement of the mandible in children. However, it is often observed that facial asymmetry will worsen during growth in the absence of orthodontic treatment. The appearance of the first teeth is often regarded as a particular effort of the child and associated with various complications. On the basis of clinical observations and histological investigations the statements and conceptions were looked into and the process of growth followed up closely for the purpose of clarifying physiological and pathological events, thus also differentiating facts from opinions and assumptions. This case report details an unusual instance of massive drug-induced gingival overgrowth in a 50-year-old female, successfully managed through a multidisciplinary approach, including surgical intervention and prosthetic rehabilitation.
