Instances of unoperated cleft lip and/or palate (CLP) in adult or elderly patients are still seen in developing countries. This paper presents the multidisciplinary management and the personal identity revival of a 72-year-old patient with unoperated unilateral complete cleft lip. The facial deformity was characterized by a protrusion of the excess of orbicularis oris muscle, irregularities of the upper lip, nose distortion, and septum deviation to the cleft side. To identify oral health variables associated with laryngotracheal aspiration-related outcomes as determined by swallowing during videofluoroscopy in adults and older adults. This cross-sectional study included 225 persons aged 18 years or older who were referred for clinical evaluation and videofluoroscopy examination due to suspected dysphagia. Oral health status assessment comprised self-reported the number of teeth, use and fit of dentures, xerostomia and satisfaction with chewing. The aim of the current study was to gather information about time and etiology of tooth loss, and to analyze the reasons for treatment needs with a questionnaire used among edentulous patients. 60 patients (age 44-98 years) who requested dental treatment were included. A patient with hypohidrotic ectodermal dysplasia and anodontia was studied clinically and cephalometrically from 6 to 18 years of age. This case is exceptional in that the patient was a young girl. Combination syndrome (CS) is a dental condition that is commonly seen in patients with a completely edentulous maxilla and partially edentulous mandible with preserved anterior teeth. This syndrome consists of severe anterior maxillary resorption combined with hypertrophic and atrophic changes in different quadrants of maxilla and mandible. BACKGROUND: There have been very few long-term controlled studies (i.e., over 5 years duration) focusing on marginal conditions for implants with a sandblasted, large grit, and acid-etched (SLA) surface.
PURPOSE: To evaluate and report 10-year data on outcomes of implants with an SLA surface placed in the edentulous maxilla.
