Specimens obtained from 67 infants with secondarily infected diaper dermatitis were cultured for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Bacteria growth was obtained in 58. Aerobic facultative bacteria or Candida sp. only were present in 28 patients (48%), anaerobic bacteria only in 11 (19%), and mixed anaerobic with aerobic, facultative, or yeast flora was present in 19 (33%). Fourteen patients with 16 femur fractures sustained between birth and 18 months of age were treated with a Pavlik harness rather than traditional casting methods. All of the fractures went on to stable union within 5 weeks. Eleven fractures have been followed-up for > 12 months, with a range of 12-30 months, and a mean of 20.1 months. OBJECTIVE: We describe a case of gastrointestinal duplication cyst with heterotopic gastric mucosa presenting with hematochezia.
CASE: The patient was a previously healthy 2-month-old girl presenting with passing fresh blood in the diaper without distress or abdominal discomfort. She was evaluated for colic prior to this episode and discharged home. Meckel scan was positive, and surgeons performed an exploratory laparotomy to identify a jejunal duplication cyst. The infant had an uneventful recovery and was discharged home.

In this symposium, we present a novel breathable protective ointment (BPO) formulation developed at the University of Shizuoka for the prevention of moisture-associated skin damage (MASD) intended for use in healthcare settings. BACKGROUND: To identify the prevalence and risk factors associated with diaper dermatitis in Thai children aged 1-24 months.
METHODS: This was a cross-sectional study of 1153 participants using structural questionnaires, which was conducted at Khon Kaen University Faculty of Medicine Pediatric department in Thailand. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to test the association between diaper dermatitis and its possible risk factors.

Granuloma inguinale (donovanosis) is a chronic granulomatous infection caused by Klebsiella granulomatis, predominantly affecting sexually active adults in endemic regions. Diaper dermatitis is one of the most common skin problems in children. It most commonly presents as an acute irritant contact dermatitis but a great number of dermatoses can manifest with lesions in the diaper area and have to be considered in differential diagnosis. The etiology, clinical picture and differential diagnosis of skin changes in the diaper area are presented.
