In a large population‐based cohort of patients with indolent B‐cell lymphoma, bendamustine–rituximab was not associated with a statistically significant excess risk of secondary primary malignancies compared with cyclophosphamide‐based regimens after adjustment for confounders. These data contextualize prior safety concerns and support thoughtful optimization rather than abandonment of bendamustine‐based frontline therapies in indolent B‐cell lymphomas.

Idiopathic pleuroparenchymal fibroelastosis (IPPFE) is a recently described rare condition, characterized by pleural and subpleural parenchymal fibrosis, predominantly in the upper lobes. The clinical course of this disease is progressive and prognosis is poor, with little information regarding the etiology of IIPPFE. This report describes an IPPFE patient with convincing evidence of inhalational dust and suggests that dust exposure should be considered as a new causative factor of IPPFE.

Traditionally, the concept of cotton dust-related disease focused on acute airway responses. A possible connection of long-term exposure to cotton dust with chronic obstructive airway disease was not addressed until the past two decades.
