We are making a brief review of the literature analyzing the development of epidural spinal lipomatosis and some of the possible causes, additionally, a proposition for alternative therapy is done for those cases that surgery has to be avoided or delayed. Finally, we make reference to some current surgical options.

After exploiting all causal therapies there are other therapeutic methods only for soothing, viz. anodyne drug therapy using peripheral or central efficient analgesics, opiates and opioids as well. A woman in her early 50s presented with an 8-month history of bilateral lower limb weakness and a 3-month history of unsteady gait. Imaging revealed a dumbbell-shaped mass near T1-T3, initially diagnosed as a schwannoma. BACKGROUND: Angioleiomyomas are benign mesenchymal tumors usually located in the limbs, with anecdotal reports in the spine. We present an atypical case of an epidural spine angioleiomyoma presenting with compressive myelopathy symptoms. The diagnosis was suggested based on MRI findings, and subsequently confirmed histopathologically.

Ewing sarcoma (ES) is a rare primary neoplasm in the lumbar adult spine and may mimic a benign tumor. We present a case of extradural hematoma resulting from a relatively minor closed injury over the vertex where a plasma cell tumour had invaded the superior sagittal sinus. The patient underwent an emergency craniotomy and evacuation of the hematoma. Meningioma is one of the most common tumors in the spinal cord. Extradural and en-plaque variety of meningioma occur less frequently. A 47-year-old woman is presented with radiculopathy signs. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a lesion from C6 through T3 vertebral levels compressing the cord both anteriorly and posteriorly. Migration of an epidural catheter into either paravertebral tissues or pleural cavity has already been described. Up to now, no case of passage of peritoneal fluid into the epidural space has been reported. A focal adenocarcinoma in a rectal villous adenoma occurred in a patient with pemphigus vulgaris. We describe a case of a parturient with disseminated lymphangiomatosis involving the thorax, retroperitoneum, and lumbar vertebrae who received epidural labor analgesia. Clinical presentations vary depending on the organ systems involved, the extent of the disease, and the stage of pregnancy. Anesthetic implications are discussed.

A case of flaccid paraplegia due to a metastatic spinal epidural melanoma is reported. Symptoms occurred approximately 9 years after the enucleation of the left eye. A solid melanotic mass was removed almost totally. Three years after the operation, the patient had not regained the motility of the lower limbs.
