Wunderlich syndrome (WS) refers to spontaneous renal or perinephric hemorrhage occurring in the absence of known trauma. WS is much less common than hemorrhage occurring after iatrogenic or traumatic conditions. Lenk's triad of acute onset flank pain, flank mass, and hypovolemic shock is a classic presentation of WS but seen in less than a quarter of patients. The majority of patients present only with isolated flank pain and often imaged with an unenhanced CT in the emergency department. A 40-year-old Japanese man was admitted to our hospital for investigation of fever and right flank pain starting after watery diarrhea. Salmonella enteritidis was cultured from samples of stool and blood. Although his diarrhea subsided soon, high fever persisted and flank pain got worse. BACKGROUND: Flank hernias are uncommon, surgical treatment is challenging and the minimally-invasive approach not always feasible. The aim of this study was to report the safety and feasibility of the robotic-assisted repair.

OBJECTIVES: Nephroptosis is a common incidental finding on routine excretory urography. It is characterized by descent of the kidney by more than 5 cm during orthostasis and is typically diagnosed in asthenic women. However, symptomatic nephroptosis is present in no more than 10% to 20% of cases. Currently, surgical correction of this benign disease is reserved for select cases in which well-documented nephroptosis causes persistent symptoms not amenable to conservative treatment. We report on laparoscopic nephropexy using tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) for symptomatic nephroptosis.

An 81-year-old man underwent distal gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection … neoscopic partial right nephrectomy and diagnosed kidney metastasis of the gastric tumor. His right flank pain worsened, and radiotherapy(50 Gy)was performed for the mass and para-aortic lymph node metastasis. His right flank pain resolved.
