Transient lactose intolerance secondary to infective diarrhoea is common in developing countries, & soya milk formula is commonly prescribed for its management. Congenital lactase deficiency (CLD) is a severe autosomal recessive genetic disorder that affects the functional capacity of the intestinal protein lactase-phlorizin hydrolase (LPH).
