PURPOSE: To report the initial experience of a modified intraocular lens (IOL) scleral fixation technique using 6/0 prolene in a double-flanged sutureless technique with a 27-gauge needle.
METHODS: Twenty-nine consecutive patients with IOL surgery were retrospectively reviewed between December 2021 and October 2023. Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study letters, spherical equivalent (SE), astigmatism axial degree, and intraocular pressure were evaluated at baseline and 1, 2, 3, and 6 months postoperatively. PURPOSE: To report a case of indirect trauma causing dislocation of the crystalline lens in a patient with no underlying risk factors.
METHODS: Case report.
RESULTS: A 76-year-old woman fell injuring her right temple area. She complained of blurring of vision in her right eye. Her vision was reduced to 6/60. Ocular examination revealed right aphakia associated with complete posterior dislocation of the crystalline lens into the vitreous cavity. No predisposing factors as pigment dispersion or pseudoexfoliation material was found on gonioscopy.

The purpose of this study is to report the modification of sewing machine technique for iris dialysis repair (MSMT) and its usefulness in managing other conditions such as intraocular lens (IOL) subluxation, iris coloboma, Cionni ring for zonular dialysis, and for scleral-fixated IOL. BACKGROUND: Traumatic cataracts present in multiple and different forms. Based on the nature of injury, it necessitates a customized approach for individual case. Capsulorhexis and in the bag intraocular lens (IOL) placement are vital for long term centration of pediatric IOLs. Paediatric lenses having elastic capsule provide more challenges to perform optimum rhexis and the surgery becomes further complicated, when it is subluxated or fibrosed.
