The patient was 80s woman, whose chief complaint of fever and abdominal pain. She visited our hospital, and further evaluation revealed sigmoid colon cancer invading the uterus and abdominal wall. We report an unusual case of carcinosarcoma of the colon. An 80-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with lower abdominal pain. Computed tomography showed a large pelvic mass, 18cm in maximal diameter, and barium enema and colonoscopy both showed a type-2 tumor in the sigmoid colon. A 28-year-old Japanese man was admitted to our institute because of sharp anal pain and a mass that prolapsed from the anus after defecation. BACKGROUND: Appendiceal goblet cell adenocarcinomas (GCA) are rare. Most patients who undergo appendectomy have acute appendicitis. The detection of synchronous colorectal cancer (SCRC) has increased with advances in diagnostic imaging and endoscopic examinations. However, only two cases of SCRC, including appendiceal GCA, have been reported to date. We recently encountered an extremely rare case of SCRC, involving appendiceal GCA, ascending colon cancer (ACC), and sigmoid colon cancer (SCC). Herein, we present this case and provide a discussion on the relevant literature.

BACKGROUND: Extramedullary plasmacytoma is an uncommon tumor that most often involves the nasopharynx or upper respiratory tract. Extramedullary plasmacytoma is a type of plasma cell neoplasm that can present as a primary tumor or secondary to another plasma cell neoplasm, such as multiple myeloma.
