The goals of this retrospective review were to evaluate leg-length discrepancy in patients with a unilateral clubfoot and to determine the relationship between bone age and chronologic age in the same population. Thirty-two of 47 patients referred for scanograms had a discrepancy more than 0.5 cm. Shortening was predominantly in the tibia, and four patients had radiographic evidence of growth disturbance. Between 1984 and 1994, 40 patients with a posttraumatic compartment syndrome of the lower leg and foot were treated for talipes equinovarus adductus foot deformity, which subsequently developed. OBJECTIVES: We analyze the incidence, etiology, outcome of pregnancy and therapeutic regimes of prenatally and postnatally detected isolated and complex congenital talipes equinovarus in a tertiary referral center.
METHODS: We included fetuses with at least one prenatal ultrasound examination conducted by a sub-specialized practitioner for prenatal medicine. Retrospective evaluation was made of prenatal, obstetrical and neonatal/pediatric records and where applicable pathological records or records of the involved department of pediatric surgery with a minimum follow-up of 24 months.

We present a systematic review of the results of the Ponseti method of management for congenital talipes equinovarus (CTEV). Our aims were to assess the method, the effects of modifications to the original method, and compare it with other similar methods of treatment. We found 308 relevant citations in the English literature up to 31 May 2010, of which 74 full-text articles met our inclusion criteria. This study examines the hypothesis that the preoperative, clinically determined, equinus angle of congenital talipes equinovarus correlates with the surgical outcome. A case of a fifteen year old male with unusual congenital anomalies of hands and feet (Poly-syndactyly) is presented. There was associated talipes equino-varus deformity of the left foot with bilateral duplication of great toes. Both hands appeared like a cup but the patient was able to carry out his routine activities. The purpose of this report is to document a unique 'isolated' congenital anomaly.

A case-control study on 1342 infants was carried out to investigate whether mid-trimester amniocentesis might be a cause of congenital talipes or hip malformation. There was no evidence of any excess risk of having an infant with either of these malformations in mothers who had an amniocentesis; the estimate of relative risk in association with amniocentesis before 28 weeks of pregnancy was 1.08 (95% confidence interval, 0.7-1.6).
