This was a cross-sectional survey that collected data relating to management of anogenital warts (AGW) during a single-patient visit only at genitourinary medicine clinics. Single-agent use of cryotherapy, podophyllotoxin and trichloroacetic acid (TCA) were the most common treatment modalities, accounting for over two-thirds of all modalities used. BACKGROUND: Vasoproliferative tumours of the retina (VPTR) are benign tumours of unknown origin, occurring mostly in otherwise healthy patients. VPTR may be associated with other chorioretinal diseases, such as uveitis. The tumours, which histologically represent reactive gliovascular proliferations, are characterised by a pink to yellow appearance on funduscopy and are accompanied by exudative and haemorrhagic changes of the retina.

A discussion of myopia of prematurity is based on 16 low-birth weight children now aged 3-9 years. The cases of 11 patients with a unilateral, retinal detachment associated with hard exudate and other late sequelae of retinopathy of prematurity are described. The abnormality was first noted in the second to fourth decades of life. Ten of the patients were women and one was a man. The source of the hard exudate was thought to be telangiectatic retinal vascular abnormalities. Among the ten treated eyes, four demonstrated an improvement in visual acuity. In two cases a mass lesion was also noted in the fundus.

The Authors studied the characteristics and the surgical results of 57 pseudophakic patients operated on between January 1989 and June 1991 for primary retinal detachment at the Department of Ophthalmology of the "Hotel Dieu de Paris Hospital", with a postoperative follow-up of at least six months. The many different treatment possibilities for the eradication of warts provide evidence that no single method that is completely effective has been found. Although the various methods described herein are usually successful therapies for warts, they are all associated with treatment failures and side effects. In 1981-1988, 515 operations were made in patients with supraventricular tachycardias (SVT) refractory to preventive antiarrhythmic therapy at the A. N. Bakulev Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, USSR Academy of Medical Sciences.
